The magician

For my art work this term, I have decided to take up sewing and make a patchwork quilt; I am having a lot of fun with this so far.

The fool

Good morning, good afternoon and good evening! My name is Charlotte (Charl, Charles, Charley, call me anything!) and I've been toying with creating a blog for a while and seeing the succession of one of my university friends and one of my friends I've known since I was tiny and their amazing blogs, I feel more motivated to create one to help showcase my life and my art and also, more personally as a way of getting across what it's like as a twenty year old girl, a twenty year old adult, living with suspected manic depression. However, I have absolutely no idea how to start this off.

So beginnings; I've been at university for a year and a half now on a Fine Art degree and I feel it's about time I at least try and get my foot in the pool of showing my work and to try start building relations through commissions and print sales. I would say I am primarily a traditional artist, in the aspect I prefer using mediums like pencil and charcoal to draw but I also like to try new things and get really hands on with everything. I also feel like I have a lot to say and have a lot of different aspects of my personal life to share and what better way than on a blog!

I was diagnosed with suspected manic depression when I was 18 years old and it was a very scary and emotional time as I had just moved away from my home and family to a new town to attend university and I was very alone, I think that the transitional period was a lot to take in and a lot to deal with but now I'm getting better at dealing with it. Things are starting to look up!
